What is Crohn’s Disease?

  • Crohn’s Disease (CD) is an inflammatory bowel disease (#IBD)

  • Most often diagnosed in adolescents & adults 20-30 years.

  • CD can affect any part of the #gastrointestinal (GI) tract from - mouth to anus

  • Medication and diet to reduce #inflammation and bring on remission. In some cases, surgery may be required to treat CD and complications.

  • Diet plays an important role both during a flare as well as in remission.

  • Research shows that diet can aid to decrease inflammation and induce remission in CD.


How can diet help during a flair/remission?

  • By removing foods that may change the bacteria in your gut and promote inflammation, while increasing other foods that provide fibre and resistant starch which help to reduce inflammation #cded #EEN.
